Car Horns
I can’t stand it when people honk their car horns!!!
I can count on one hand how many times I have done it since I first got my license at 16 (I’m 32 now). Maybe it’s because my mom did it so much when I was younger. I remember every evening she got home from work she would come around the corner and honk the horn to let my brother, sister and I know that she was home and we better start cleaning up…QUICK!!!
This morning I was driving down 7th St. It was about 7am when I heard the loudest, most annoying sound. A woman was trying to make a left turn from one of the suicide lanes when she wasn’t supposed to apparently. The culprit looked like she may have been in her 70’s and probably had no idea she was commiting such a felony. Ok, so it’s not exactly a felony, but the guy behind her sure made it seem like it was. And he refused to take his hand off the horn for at least 10 seconds.
One sentence for you buddy…CALM DOWN!!!!!! You could have given the poor lady a heart attack in the middle of the road…and she could have been your grandma!!!
It’s a simple mistake. We all make them. And know that when you do, I won’t be honking at you.

The claws are out. Don’t incur the wrath of Mini, dude.
We’ve got a neighbor whose son comes by with his big truck (license plate: CuzICan) and just can NOT bring himself to get out of the vehicle to knock on the door. Instead, he sits on the curb and honks. And honks and honks and honks. As if the people inside somehow forgot he was out there. No wait, they can’t possibly forget because the honks are only about 20 seconds apart.
One of these days, I’m going to go jump in the passenger seat as if he’s honking for me and see what he does.

Yeah no kidding,
I can’t figure out why they cannot park thier car & go knock on the door or call first instead of sitting in thier cars honking thier horns.

I am so with you on this!!
Just last night some guy two cars behind me (and i am 6 cars behind the front car) honks before the light even turned green. Then to top it off he didn’t even make it through the light. Ha, impatience will get you nowhere!!

If that guys was at my house honking for someone to come out to him, he would be met with a bat, warned the first time, second time that horn wouldn’t work anymore!
I think that is the most disrespectful way to treat ANYBODY!!

What do you all think the horn is for? If you idiots that get honked at cannot remember how to drive or are to selfish to be considerate of others around you, live with getting honked at. When you make a “mistake” because you are to selfish to wait, pay attention or just think about what you are doing you deserve to get honked at. I would bet that the only people that think honking is rude are the ones that get honked at. You are driving an extremely heavy and potentially dangerous vehicle without paying attention or concert for others. If you could only harm yourself it would not be a problem, but that is not the case. If you cannot remember the rules of the road or are unable to be considerate of others, take the bus or stay home you morons!

Ok, technically, the horn is only to be used as a warning device, so if are honking at a friend, (which is annoying and has the potential to cause an accident because other drivers are trying to figure out why there is honking going on), you are subject to receiving a ticket, by law the horn is ONLY to be used for a warning device and not a message service. And, Oh… Jeff, you seem to have some anger management issues, so I hope NOT to see YOU on the roads.

Now I wanna send Jeff a bumper sticker that says Honk if you have Anger Issues, or maybe Honk Again and I’ll End You? I’m thinking I’m really surprised this issue raised so much emotion. I’m kinda pissed about gas prices, I don’t care if you honk your horn off. World peace would be nice too. Oh and maybe we could work on stopping the senseless pig-doodoo fume deaths that are constantly endangering our nations hog farmers? (see Peak TV’s last episode for more on that issue)

I totally agree with Jeff, just too many stupid people. Plus, my life is in danger more so everyday riding on my motorcycle to work. I honk a lot of people due to them changing lanes without signals to right in front of me with only inches between my front tire and their rear bumper. Check your mirrors, or I may cut you off as well while kicking your mirror off your car that you evidently don’t use anyway.
