It’s time for the annual Fiesta Bowl Parade. Everybody throw your arms in the air and yell “hooray”!!! The event this year takes place on Saturday, January 3rd and runs through Central Phoenix, as always. The route has changed a bit though, due to light rail. Here’s what I found on-line at about.com. I will NOT be held responsible for any mistakes they may have made, though, okay? And may I recommend that you get your spot along the route a bit early? This isn’t a last-minute, lightly-attended event, for you newcomers. It’s a destination!!
The parade will begin on Central Avenue, just north of Montebello Avenue. It will travel south to Camelback Road, then east to 7th Street, and then south again to the finish just south of Minnezona Avenue.
He said what?!Marvin Gaye’s song “I’ll Be Doggone” popped up on my I-pod the other day and put an ear-worm in my head. Of all the lines in that song to get stuck in my head, whywhywhy did it have to be “Every woman should try to be whatever her man wants her to be”? The one line that prevents me from being able to say that Marvin Gaye could do no wrong and it gets stuck in my head, playing over and over. I love Marvin Gaye and I only forgive him for saying such a ridiulous thing because I know he didn’t write the song and was just a mouthpiece for Motown in those days. But let me tell you, I couldn’t wait to get to work and play some Peak music to exorcise the demon that is that line from my head. Sheesh!!
